I'm stating small examples to illustrate how common is this, imagine the larger scales involved

We need to understand and implement ideas to prevent these things to happen at some level or the other

This answer could be thought of as too generic for some and I apologise for that, there are obviously more concerns as well, but none is too great at the moment for our civilization. But if we have to last for centuries, we must think about all these and more to ensure consistency of our past, present and future.
